Safe Seniors

Based on National statistics, persons over the age of 65 are more than two times more likely to die in a fire than the general population (USFA Older Adults). Approximately 17% of Sugarcreek Township residents are over the age of 65 (Sugarcreek Twp. Census Data). Based on this historical and demographic data, the Sugarcreek Township Fire Department has created a free program aimed to save lives and property.


Program Components:


-Fire Safety Assessment

-Carbon Monoxide Checks/Installations

-Smoke Alarm Checks/Installations

-Fire Extinguishers

-Fire Escape Plan

-Residential Lock Box


Requirements:


-At least 65 years of age

-Homeowner

-Resident of Sugarcreek Township
