Fire Department History

General Information

The Sugarcreek Township Fire Department is known as one of the fastest growing and most aggressive fire departments in the area. The Fire Department was developed in 1988, after Sugarcreek Township and the City of Bellbrook agreed to become separate entities. Since that time, both the fire department and the township have grown immensely.

The Sugarcreek Township Fire Department is a combination department, operating with full-time (career), part-time, and volunteer personnel. Citizens that reside in and visit our township can rest assured they are protected with state of the art equipment and caring professional personnel from our fire department. The Sugarcreek Township Fire Department provides both fire protection and EMS (emergency medical services), public education classes such as CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), fire prevention programs to the public, and an explorer program for children ages 14 through 21 who have an interest in serving in the fire/EMS field. The fire department also participates in numerous community based functions.
